Not professional advice

Our articles, comparisons, and tools exist to help you research glassworking torches. They are general information, not professional, engineering, safety, or purchasing advice for your specific studio, equipment, or situation, and reading them does not create a professional relationship between you and us.

Safety and assumption of risk

Glassworking involves open flame, high heat, fuel gases, compressed gases and oxygen, which are inherently dangerous and can cause fire, explosion, serious burns, eye injury and death. Nothing on this site replaces your equipment's documentation or proper training. The manufacturer's manual for your exact torch, regulator, and gas system always takes precedence over anything we publish, and so do the fire, building and gas codes where you work. Where we mention pressures, flow rates, or setup practices, we report what manufacturers and institutions publish; we do not certify them for your installation, and a figure for one torch or one fuel never carries over to another. Use proper regulators, the flashback protection your torch and gas supply call for, eye protection rated for the glass you work, and ventilation. Have your gas supplier or a qualified installer set up or check anything you are not trained to set up yourself, and anything your local codes require a professional for. You are responsible for your own safety and your studio's, and you use the information on this site at your own risk.

Specifications and prices

Figures come from the manufacturer's own pages and manuals where we have them, and are labelled as estimates where they are ours. Prices are reference figures for base configurations and change without notice: some are the manufacturer's own listed price, others are observed street prices, and where we have recorded the source, the torch page says which. We work to get every figure right, but errors and out of date details happen, and makers change products without notice. Confirm the current spec and price with the maker before you buy. If you find an error, the contact page is the fastest way to get it fixed.

Reader reviews on torch pages are the opinions of the readers who wrote them, not ours. The editor reads each one before it appears and publishes every review that meets our review standards, whatever its rating. We do not pay for reviews or offer anything for them.
